SYNTHOGENDER

About

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

Synthogender is a xenogender for those who align with masculinity in the way that's modeled by androids and robots. It embraces a sort of “synthetic masculinity”; aka, the feeling that you have carefully curated your masc-leaning presentation yet it is somehow artificial and/or not inherently linked to the way you experience gender (similar to how androids might process/understand it).

The Flag

Greenish-gray stripe: connection to androids/robots.

Light teal stripe: an unconventional attachment to masculinity.

White stripe: the nonbinary/trans umbrella.

The binary code, when translated, reads "synthogender".

Personal Connection

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

Synthogender was the first xenogender I coined. I created it after a deep dive into the multitude of xenogenders, in which I couldn't find one that exactly expressed how I feel. As someone who is autistic and nonbinary, gender is very nebulous and hard to explain, so I came up with a label that better describes my specific relationship with masculinity, robots/androids, and how that relates to my gender.

I have decided not to make a non-aligned/gender neutral variant due to there already being a multitude of xenogenders that fit that description already, like these.

About

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

Synthagender is a xenogender for those who align with femininity in the way that's modeled by androids and robots. It embraces a sort of “synthetic femininity”; aka, the feeling that you have carefully curated your fem-leaning presentation yet it is somehow artificial and/or not inherently linked to the way you experience gender (similar to how androids might process/understand it).

SOLARFIREGENDER

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

About

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

Solarfiregender is a xenogender for those whose gender relates to/can be described by the movie Treasure Planet.

Those who use this label may feel a strong connection to the story, aesthetics, imagery, characters, music, and/or overall feeling of Treasure Planet, in a way that informs their gender. The movie (or particular parts of it) may be a source of gender envy/gender euphoria.

Explaining ones gendered connection to this movie may be as simple as "my gender is Treasure Planet," or more complex and nuanced, for example "treasure planet is my special interest, making it a core pillar of my personality/sense of self, and feels intrinsically tied to my gender".

The Flag

The individual stripes do not carry any particular meaning, though they are all color-picked from a Treasure Planet poster [see below] and are overall representative of ones connection to the movie.

Personal Connection

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

I created solarfiregender to help describe my strong connection to Treasure Planet, and to help better describe my gender itself.
Treasure Planet has been a special interest of mine for about eight years now, and I discovered the movie while just beginning my journey of self-discovery. I didn't have any words to describe my gender at the time, but I found immense comfort in Treasure Planet, and in a lot of ways I felt seen by it. It described me in ways I couldn't yet understand. Now it only makes sense to describe my gender as being informed by Treasure Planet.
It is something otherworldly, something alien, something steampunk. It is luxurious purples and blues and reds. Something animated by hand, raw and organic, meeting the smooth and mechanical CGI. This is my gender...or at least, one very important facet of it.

ATBABIC

Coined by Scribblue

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

About

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

Atbabic is a musicagender for those whose gender relates to/can be described by the Owl City album All Things Bright and Beautiful.

Those who use this label may feel a strong connection to the entire album, the general feeling of it, or individual sections (such as songs, lyrics, instrumentals, album art, and vocals) in a way that informs their gender. This music and associated imagery may be a source of gender envy/gender euphoria.

Explaining ones gendered connection to this album may be as simple as "my gender is All Things Bright and Beautiful," or more complex and nuanced, for example "ATBAB is (part of) my special interest, making it a core pillar of my personality/sense of self, and feels intrinsically tied to my gender".

Personal Connection

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰

I created Atbabic to help describe my strong connection to this album, and to help better describe my gender itself. Owl City was one of my longest special interests, and while currently dormant, Adam's music continues to be incredibly special to me. I debated making a xenogender that covered Owl City's discography in general, but ATBAB has always stood out to me as an album that sounds how gender feels. Particularly with songs like Kamikaze, Dreams Don't Turn To Dust, Plant Life, The Real World, and Deer in the Headlights.
